BYO-DOG
On June 16th Chef Tellez of Square 1682 and his team will re-launch BYOD Weekend Brunch with a new menu for canine companions to enjoy on Square 1682’s outdoor seating along Sansom Street. While dogs in need of homes will be on site with Operation Ava [Philadelphia’s Comprehensive Downtown, No-Kill Rescue, Adoption and Education center], all dogs will leave with a treat-filled Doggie Bag from Philadelphia-based canine boutique Doggie Style. For every canine meal sold, $1 will go to Operation Ava. Operation Ava will be on site from 11-3pm.
Square 1682’s human guests will continue to enjoy an extensive brunch menu offered both Saturdays and Sundays including popular favorites, such as Wild Huckleberry Pain Perdu, Eggs Cochon de Lait, Shrimp & Grits, and Organic Chicken Confit, among the offerings.
At the launch event, dogs will be available to meet potential new owners from Operation Ava while guests are invited to bring their own dog. Representatives from both Operation Ava and Doggie Style will be on hand. The dog-menu below will be offered during brunch throughout the season at Square 1682’s outdoor tables only.
Tellez’s BYOD menu includes five canine dishes for dogs to enjoy on the patio or to-go and include Lola’s Bowl with beef tartare, raw egg, cooked rice, and carrots; Lucky’s Moco-Loco with ground turkey, rice, fried egg, and gravy; Milee¹s Smoked Bone featuring tender carrots, peas, and bacon veloute; Shelby’s Snacks with mini hot dogs; and Yodi¹s Chow with chicken, steal cut oats, seasonal vegetables, white beans, and cheddar. All canine dishes are $5, including the $1 donation to Operation Ava.
Accompanying each dish will be a bowl of filtered Natura water and an organic treat from Doggie Style.
